Services has a robust Business Continuity and Disaster
Recovery Plan (BCP & DRP) that ensures the business
operations of SLK are not disrupted by any natural or
unnatural disaster.
The DRP & BCP reiterates our commitment to deliver
the highest quality solutions using the onsite/offshore
model and protect our clients from risk. Our business
continuity plan scales from individual desktops with
residing software to high end servers with the most
complex codes & software as well as from local to
wide area connectivity.

- Backup
SLK follows three
levels of Data Backup
First level: The data
is backed up on tapes and stored at an offsite location
Second level: The offsite backup
is done using NAS (Network Attached Storage)
Third level: A dedicated team at
SLK works directly on customer servers through Metaframe
and saves the data directly on their servers
All system, departmental,
and user data are archived (level 0) at least once every
fourteen (14) days and the level 0 archives are stored
offsite at a secure location. An “incremental”
archive (level 1) is performed once everyday.
Data
- Recovery
In the event of catastrophic
hardware or software failure, the latest level 0
archives will be used to reconstruct the SLK computer
servers to the last known functional state
In the event of client computer software
failure, SLK will restore any corrupted files from
the last incremental (level 1) archive within one
business day
In the event of user error, SLK may
restore corrupted or deleted files that would take
more than one business day to re-create
Infrastructure
SLK Software
has identified business continuity locations, fully equipped to function and carry on
with work in case of any contingency.
Primary
and alternate facility
SLK has multiple office locations in Bangalore -
our corporate headquarters (Primary Facility) &
two other locations within Bangalore (alternate
facility)
In case of any exigencies, SLK can relocate to these
alternate locations and start operations using the
backed up data
People
& Process
Our business
continuity team has been selected carefully keeping in
mind the requisite skill sets needed. This team is available
for travel to our other locations at an immediate notice.
All processes and policies including our knowledge base
are accessible to SLK staff on an intranet with a secure
access. New policies and processes are updated instantly
and communicated to our staff through the Intranet.
